Priceless Helicopter Experience
Maui - Kahului

One of the activities that made our latest Christmas vacation outstanding was a helicopter tour that we took with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. Our family had been to Maui several times, and had participated in many activities. We have two teenagers that were in need of a new type of adventure, and this ride provided it and more. We saw Molokai waterfalls, sea cliffs, and lush green mountains, just to name a few majestic sights. The staff was very informative and the safety briefing provided the safety assurance that my wife required. Special thanks to the Kelly at Wailea Beach Villas for recommending this company. It was truly a priceless experience!!

Acting on impulse paid off big time
Maui - Kahului

During a Maui vacation I came by the Kahului heliport and spontaneously decided to check on the possibility of a last minute helicopter ride. So I walked into Blue Hawaiian's office shortly after 9.30am that morning and found myself in the air flying over Maui and Molokai at 10.00am. All of the staff was extremely friendly, the entire process including the safety briefing was professional and luck stroke twice as not only did I get a substantial discount, I was also given a copy of the flight movie DVD free of charge as there happened to be a few blue screens (just a few seconds really) on the recording. That's more than fair and one cannot ask for more. The flight itself was gorgeous, owing not only to the fabulous Hawaiian landscape, but also to the excellent guidance (and aviation skills) of our pilot. The helicopter as such was in excellent condition and clean. For single riders with a bit of flexibility I can only recommend to just walk in and check for a last minute flight option. There were a number of flights leaving that morning, so chances are that they will have an open seat available without any long waiting time.

Nice ride.
Maui - Kahului

A nice ride with great views however they could do a bit more to make it a top notch activity. The ear phones they provide are only connected to the pilot so you can't communicate with your partner...... Which definitely would make the experience much more enjoyable and memorable. Plus, it is very hard to even hear the pilot clearly and it would be nice if they only took 4 passengers instead of 6, but the views are wonderful and the pilot is informative...... What you can hear.

Beauty in the sky
Maui - Kahului

Took the one hour tour with my wife, always wanted to do a helicopter ride but being on the large side of life never had the chance. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters made it posible for me to make my dream come true. ( for a small additional charge ) Our pilot was friendly and very informative about the island, took us to the Haleakala crater, town of Hana, the rain forest, and Lahaina area... Also gave us great information on things to do while in the area. Best thing I've done in Hawaii. One of our best memories, we bought the video and took great pictures of Maui's waterfalls...

Fun to do once
Maui - Kahului

The helicopter ride was fun, but I wouldn’t do it again. It really is SO expensive for 45 minutes. A good chunk of the time was spent crossing the ocean and back to see Molokai. The waterfalls were beautiful and it was good to ride in a helicopter once. When we landed we were told that the audio wasn’t working on our trip so we couldn’t purchase the DVD ($50) even if we wanted to. I think this was actually a good thing so we weren’t even tempted to spend more money. I in no way would have purchased that DVD but others in our group might have wanted to. When they tell you to wear dark clothes they mean it. They should actually tell you to ONLY wear a plain black shirt if you don’t want reflections from the glass in your pictures. I had thin white flip flops on and I could even see them in the glass reflection, so I kept my feet tucked as far under the seat as possible.

The highlight of our visit to Maui
Maui - Kahului

Four of us took the one-hour Maui trip on the new eco-star helicopters. Amazing sights, great pilot (Anna) who provided a superb commentary along with excellent flying skills to maximize the view for people on both sides of the copter; very comfortable seats; excellent sound system. great views in all directions. The safety procedures are very thorough, and none but the check-in staff member knows your weight when measured for plane balancing! If you are able to afford the cost, this is the best way to start your stay on Maui.

Incredible Experience !!
Maui - Kahului

I have been to Maui 9 times over the past 20 years but had never taken a helicopter excursion. We booked a Complete Island tour with Blue Hawaiian in Kahului. When we checked in, we were advised that adverse weather would prevent flying over east Maui and Haleakala Crater. We were offered a refund, rebook or alternate tour to West Maui and Molokai. We chose to proceed despite our disappointment about not seeing Haleakala from the air. To our surprise, we were thrilled with the alternate tour. Seeing Molokai's breathtaking sea cliffs along with the valleys and waterfalls was fantastic. We were able to see mother whales with their calves in the channel between Molokai and Maui. Pilot Mike was amazing......very knowledgeable and friendly and the Ecostar helicopter offered great visibility and comfort. Without the change in itinerary, we would likely never have seen any of Molokai......and how thankful we were for "bad weather" on east Maui !!! Looking forward to another excursion with Blue Hawaiian on our next trip.

Best way to view the volcano on the Big Island, Hawaii
Maui - Kahului

Highly recommended, and don't worry if it is overcast, made it easier to see where the hot spots were. Flight was smooth and very informative.

Awesome Scenery
Maui - Kahului

Only way to see some of the great valleys, waterfalls and shoreline is from a Helicopter. Very professional pilot - very informative and great ride. A bit pricey but worth the time if you want to see some great parts of the islands.

excellent helicopter ride highly reccomend written by an 11 year old
Maui - Kahului

On our trip to Kauai me and my dad went on this beautiful ride on the eco-star. Our pilot was Brandon and he was super nice and answered any question. If you go on this with only 2 people including yourself I would highly reccomend requesting the two front seats you may not get them because seats are chosen by weight. The helicopter was extremely smooth and actually pretty quiet. The seats were very comfortable. The views are amazing and there were hundreds of waterfalls. You will get to see where many movies were made such as Jurrasic Park,Indianna Jones, and countless others. From above you'll see the dramatic landscape and inaccessible areas of the island. You will see a huge waterfall from Jurrasic Park that is truly breathtaking. The whole time you're in the helicopter you have headphones on that are very comfortable and will hear cool hawaiin music whenever nobody is talking. You will also have a small microphone you will share with the person sitting next to you that you can talk to the pilot and all others in the aircraft however when you talk every body hears what you say so you can't talk to just one person. Cellphones are not allowed so don't bring it to take pictures however cameras are allowed. In the helicopter there is a lot of windows to look out of so don't worry if you're sitting in the middle. There are a few minor setbacks I mentioned here but overall these are nothing big. Overall this is an excellent service and would highly reccomend it for people of all ages.

A must do, the only way to see Hawaii.
Maui - Kahului

This was an amazing adventure. Its also the only way you can see the best part of Hawaii. We had booked a helicopter tour on Kauai, but during our stay it rained so much it was cancelled twice. So when we got to the big island, this was first on our list. We had a two hour long flight, and saw everything, volcanoes, lava, waterfalls that you cant even imagine, and also we saw some humpback whales. Highly recommend this one. Our pilot was Toshi, if you have a choice, ask for him when you book it. He was great.

Into the green
Maui - Kahului

Definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We saved this until the end of our trip so we can say,"hey we were there". We went with the Maui spectacular that stopped at the base of Haleakala. It was breathtaking seeing south Maui from way up there. After all of it I have to say that the best part was choppering through the west Maui mountains and seeing the drastic change from desert to green. Really cool. I feel they could have done more in Hana. Maybe they just breeze through so you can book the Hana tour separate. Anyway if you have some extra money definitely give this a shot.

WOW
Maui - Kahului

A great trip. The sights from above Maui are incredible. We also got to go accross the channey to Molakai and see the waterfall there. All I can say about this is wow. We had a great flight with a knowledgeable pilot who talked to us throughout the flight and the two way conversation really added to the trip as he could aswer a couple of questions. If you can do it, the do it.

So glad we did this
Maui - Kahului

We took the 50 minute tour on the ecostar. You definitely want to splurge for this better copter. Much more comfortwable and better visibility. Great views of the volcano and waterfalls. We were able to see glowing lava areas. Our pilot was very knowledgeable. Please, parents, consider carefully whether you bring your kids. We were with a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Both kids got ill, one vomiting twice. Thankfully the incidents were isolated enough that it didn't effect us, but the ride was torture for them.

Nothing they could have done better
Maui - Kahului

The staff, facilities and tour were excellent. The staff did everything they could to make the tour as personal as possible. We definitely recommend the EcoStar helicopters as the windows are much bigger and provide great views. Our pilot was very informative and did a great job of making the tour as interactive as possible. The staff made sure after we landed to take pictures of all of us next to the helicopter. We took the West Maui/Molokai trip and the waterfalls on Molokai were spectacular.
